Rockstar SuperSours

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , , , on 04/24/2013 by Brett

So a while back, I had mentioned on our Facebook page that Rockstar was releasing their SuperSours line-up in two flavors: Green Apple and Bubbleberry. I will start with Green Apple.

The last time I remember any energy drink manufacturer developing an apple flavored drink was when Xenergy had their “Big Apple” flavor, which they discontinued over four years ago. Shame, because it was actually very good. But I have never been let down by any of Rockstar’s flavors. Others I have liked more, but never stopped me from buying those other flavors ever again. Just buy the ones I like the most more so.

The Green Apple flavor definitely tastes just like a Granny Smith apple, which is my favorite kind of apple as well. I was expecting a little bit of tartness from the energy drink, maybe more so than what the actual apple would give. But I didn’t get that. Don’t get me wrong: It was sour. But it wasn’t “Makes my lips pucker up” sour. Still flavorful, but more sweet than it is sour. Definitely enjoyable, but not really what I expected.

Now for the Bubbleberry flavor: This one I didn’t expect any sourness from, though there was a little. But it tasted more like bubble gum than anything, which I did expect. Didn’t really notice any berry flavor to it, but maybe I need to drink more before I jump to such a rash decision. But I also figured they would have picked a fruit that is known for its tartness and not make it taste like bubble gum.

So overall: Green Apple and Bubbleberry tasted good, but they weren’t “super sour.” Definitely a good marketing tool on Rockstar’s part to get people who like sourness to buy this product. But this is not one of Rockstar’s more successful ventures. At least not when it comes to flavor, because their other flavors are awesome!

Beaver Buzz “Stripped” Saskatoon Berry

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , on 05/09/2011 by Brett

So on Friday, I reviewed Beaver Buzz “Stripped” Citrus flavor. Today, I review the Saskatoon Berry flavor.

I have talked to so many people who have tried every flavor of Beaver Buzz. I would say the majority I have talked to always name the Saskatoon Berry flavor their favorite. It seems to be one of Beaver Buzz’s as well. So much so, they made a sugar-free version of it! And just like its original counterpart, it is, with all apologies to Beaver Buzz for using their slogan, Dam Good! No wonder so many people find this flavor to be the most popular…including me!

So be sure to pick up a can of Beaver Buzz “Stripped” Saskatoon Berry today. You won’t regret it.

Beaver Buzz Saskatoon Berry

First of all: I would like to wish my mother a happy birthday. Hope it’s a good one, Mom.

Second: I have been meaning to post a review about this flavor for a really long time, so here it is. Beaver Buzz likes to maintain to Canadian roots. Understandable so, being it is a Canadian company. And thankfully, after their reshuffling of flavors a while back, they kept their Saskatoon Berry flavor. Yes, the same berry that originates from Canada’s Bridge City. Eating Saskatoon berries themselves is amazing, whether in ice cream, pie or even on their own. But in drink form? It is absolutely excellent! And as always: Beaver Buzz uses sucrose (natural sugar) instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is awesome.

Another thing I like about Beaver Buzz is they not only include the medicinal and non-medicinal ingredients on the can, but they also have the supplement facts. In all honesty, they are the only energy drink manufacturer in Canada who does this. Something I’ll admit the rest of them need to do. So give Beaver Buzz Saskatoon Berry a try, and unlike The Guess Who, you won’t need to run back to Saskatoon to pick up a can.

Also, please check out the Beaver Buzz website for the rest of their line-up.

AMP Energy Juice Mixed Berry

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , on 04/15/2010 by Brett

Happy Tax Day to my American readers! If that didn’t get your attention, this review of AMP Energy Juice Mixed Berry will! I swear, AMP not only did a great job on the Orange, which I reviewed yesterday. They did a great job with the Mixed Berry as well. It may say it is mixed berry, but there are orange and white grape juices in there and it gives a nice balance to the flavor. And just like AMP Energy Juice Orange, the Mixed Berry kept me charged up through the day. Seriously, I recommend the Mixed Berry as well. Go grab some. You won’t regret it!

Be sure to also check out the AMP Energy website please!
