A common ingredient I am beginning to find in energy drinks as of late is Inositol. On most energy drinks, I have discovered it is in the medicinal ingredients section. As a result, I decided to check and see what the benefits of Inositol are. According to information found on Wikipedia, Inositol has been used in treatments for conditions such as bulimia, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), agoraphobia, as well as unipolar and bipolar depression. This is good to know, as apparently, anyone who suffers from clinical depression have decreased levels of inositol in their cerebrospinal fluid.

Inositol is also used in hair care. It strengthens the hair and allows hair to retain its moisture. Very beneficial for those of you who want their hair to look good, as well as anyone who is in the hair stylist profession. Inositol is also available as an ingredient in some shampoo formulas. I don’t have a whole lot of hair personally, but for those of you who do, you may want to bring that to your hair stylist’s attention next time, in case they don’t know already.

Just to name a few brands of energy drinks that contain Inositol are Rockstar, Xenergy and NOS. So many people claim energy drinks are unhealthy. And maybe they’re right in certain cases. But if you run into someone who states that to you as you’re drinking a Rockstar, just mention you’re making your hair stronger. They may not understand, but as long as you do, that’s all that counts.
